Story
A retired CIA agent is pursued by both the agency he once worked for and his own nightmares when he is suddenly visited by an unknown man after nearly three decades. During this time, Jeff Bridges was diagnosed with and subsequently began treatment for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
After recovering, the series returned to production
Bridges referred to the return as coming back after a “long weekend” on a podcast in July 2022. Honored at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards (2024).
The Old Man is a spy thriller that is definitely worth watching!
Jeff Bridges is as great as ever and does an amazing job of still being a badass at the age of 72! His dogs steal every scene they are in and remind me of the dogs from John Wick.
I can’t wait for more and would recommend it to any fan of spy thrillers
The rest of the cast is also in great form, especially John Lithgow (who rarely disappoints). I know there are a lot of really good spy shows out there to choose from, but this one has everything you want in a spy thriller and is definitely worth watching.
